Industrial Engineer, Peoples Services, Inc., 1779 Marvo Rd., Akron, OH, 44306. Designs, develops, tests and evaluates integrated systems for managing industrial production processes, focusing on inventory, logistics and material flow and cost analysis, from planning to completion phase. Conducts supply chain analysis using lean and Six Sigma Lean strategies, including distribution and transportation network analysis. Performs facility price modeling and facility design analysis for new warehouse sites, including material handling and storage solution options. Assesses technology needs for warehouse sites. Conducts operational analysis and analyzes continuous improvement opportunities for existing sites to optimize operations. Designs reverse logistic strategies including product restocking, manufacturer returns, recycling, and disposal of goods per regulatory guidelines for warehouse sites. Proposes safety and environmental improvements for warehouse facilities. Develops productivity standards to improve warehouse operations, using Statistical Process Control and best practices. Overnight travel to Eastern and Midwestern U.S. project sites on as needed basis, less than 10%, no foreign travel, no fixed itinerary. Minimum Reqs.: Bachelor’s degree (or better) in Industrial Engineering or closely related field + 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a warehousing or manufacturing environment. Demonstrable familiarity with: creating operating disciplines and training procedures in a manufacturing or warehousing environment (any experience acceptable); ISO Quality Systems (any experience acceptable); Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) (any experience acceptable); Six Sigma Lean (any experience acceptable); basic knowledge of programmable logic controller (PLC) programming (any experience acceptable).
