Total Distribution, Inc. Honored with a 2023 Cascade Capital Corporation Business Growth Award

CANTON, OH — October 20, 2023

Total Distribution, Inc. (TDI) has been honored with 2023 Cascade Capital Corporation’s Business Growth Award. The Business Growth Awards Program, presented by Cascade Capital Corporation, recognized TDI and the other honorees that have achieved superior growth in sales and/or employment over the past five years at the Business Growth Awards on October 4, 2023 at John S. Knight Center.

To earn this award, TDI’s sales increased by 100% or at least $5 million over the past five years, and its full-time employee base increased by 50% or 25 actual employees over the past five years as well. These successful factors positively demonstrate the vitality of our local & regional economy. Throughout the years, the Sibila family – who started the company in 1914 – has been active in many community services. They have had continuous representation and leadership roles on local development agencies for decades.

Company expands access and services into New York and New Jersey

Total Distribution, Inc. (TDI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Peoples Services, Inc. (PSI), headquartered in Canton, Ohio has acquired the assets of Presidential Express Trucking, Inc., and Presidential Express Warehousing & Distribution, Inc., based in Bayonne, New Jersey. The acquisition continues the strategy of further diversifying and expanding the services offered by PSI and its affiliates. Presidential Express’s reputation and history were critical components and rationale for the acquisition.

Doug Sibila, Chief Executive Officer of PSI said, “Adding New York and New Jersey port access and related services to our existing network will improve the service levels and flexibility to PSI and Presidential Express’s current customers.”

Meet Doug Sibila, CEO of Peoples Services

Doug Sibila is the CEO of Peoples Services Inc. — the parent company of Total Distribution Inc. and Peoples Cartage Inc. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1983 and the University of Notre Dame in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree and a double major in business administration and accounting and finance.

Today, he and his wife Carrie Strayer live in Plain Township. The couple have two daughters, Helen and Kathryn, and a cat named Goldie. (See correction at bottom of story.) They just lost their 14-year-old dog, Maggie.

Sibila started his career with People Services by spending summers and breaks through college moving furniture, working in the warehouse and when old enough, he drove a truck.

Total Distribution, Inc. Continues to Invest in Cold Storage Warehouses

CANTON, OH — January 2023

Total Distribution, Inc. (TDI), a Peoples Services, Inc. company, has expanded its Tallmadge, OH warehouse, almost doubling their space by adding 40,000 square feet of cold storage and over 5,000 additional pallet positions.

In October 2020, TDI acquired the assets of Kandel Cold Storage, Inc., based in Tallmadge, Ohio to further expand their food related services. The facility continued to thrive making the decision to expand and renovate a good investment for TDI. The 9-million-dollar construction took a little over a year with the help of Scheetz Building Corporation. “This investment continues our commitment to expanding food-related services offered by TDI to better support the needs of our customers,” said Doug Sibila, CEO and President of TDI.

TDI has 22 FDA (Food and Drug Administration) registered warehouses and adhere to the FDA recommended security guidelines. Its facilities offer temperature-controlled storage, refrigerated/cooler, freezer, and dry & bulk storage. TDI’s 3PL food grade warehouses are recognized by the American Institute of Baking (AIB), now known as AIB International, and ASI (American Sanitation Institute), following all requirements to maintain high facility GMP audit scores.


Total Distribution, Inc. Akron Completes the Supply Chain for those in Need

Company partners with three local charities to deliver and house blankets to homeless

CANTON, OH — February 2, 2023

Total Distribution, Inc. (TDI) Akron partnered with Summit County Continuum of Care, The Homeless Charity and Village as well as with The Akron Canton Regional Foodbank on Monday, January 23, 2023, to help deliver and provide warehousing for 20 pallets of donated blankets.

Lerryn Campbell, Executive Director of The Homeless Charity and Village of Akron, said, “We are very fortunate to have businesses like Total Distribution who care about our community and our neighbors in need.”

Summit County Continuum of Care, a collaboration of local agencies working together for the homeless population, launched the Point-In-Time (PIT) count on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023. This count helps the organization understand trends around homeless and whether homelessness is declining or increasing in our community.

The Akron Canton Regional Food Bank held 20 pallets of donated blankets for those without shelter in Akron. Working with The Homeless Charity and Village, TDI Akron donated its services of trucking and warehousing so the organization could ensure these blankets would be given to those in need on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, when all residents without shelter are accounted for throughout Akron.

Total Distribution, Inc. Named to Transport Topics’ 2022 Top Dry Storage and Refrigerated Warehousing Lists

CANTON, OH — April 20, 2022 — Total Distribution, Inc. (TDI) has been named to Transport Topics’ Top Dry Storage and Refrigerated Warehousing lists for 2022 for providing expert industry services in North America ranked based on annual gross revenue.
